Projects that have been keeping me warm.

I think you'll all agree that it's getting a darn sight colder. I notice it particularly because of my shaky heating system which runs on a top-up card; I appear to run out of gas every time I need it the most, so I have to bundle up in 48 jumpers, run across the road to the off-license, pay an extortionate amount of money, run back, top up my gas meter which is outside in the cold and only then can I run the radiators for roughly 2 days before the process starts again. Hilarious, I'm sure you'll agree.

As a cheaper method of keeping toasty, I've focused my energy into getting some projects done. The correspondance posters I spoke about ast time have all been sent out, so no the long process of chasing up each company I contacted begins. Also, I've decided to create a few scroll books, like I used to at University - They're folded out of one long piece of paper I have drawn on, so the books formed are concertinaed and the images are seamless across each page. I've put some photos up of the first complete one on my website, but I've given you a little taster above...

In other news, the book I was asked by ITV Fixers to contribute to has been published! It's called "In Denial" and it tackles the issue of Eating Disorders head on - I have put a photo or two on my website. If you'd like any more information, give me a shout, or have a look at this link, where you can read the whole book.

I'll be churning out some more work in this half term, so stick around...

Carpet Bombing Publishers...

Well, it's a sunny Sunday afternoon and it's time I updated you once again on the happening of the last week.

After speaking to various sources, primarily my ever-wise totem of encouragement, Mother, I've decided that I'm going to be sending out a correspondence card of sorts. It'll be postal, not email, as they can be so easily ignored and deleted. I'm getting it printed professionally by the lovely folks at Prontaprint, and then I'm peppering a large selection of companies with the mini-poster image and a new business card from the geniuses at MOO. The idea is that, by contacting such a wide range of people, my chances of getting a positive response (and even, dare I say it, some commissions) are greatly increased. Besides, it's nice to receive post, everyone knows it.

As well as that little project, my pal Tom and me have been continuing our work together - We've produced a rather splendid poster, which you will get to see soon enough, and are planning our next project, which is likely to be a mini-book of sorts, based on a holiday from the Summer just passed... Stay tuned!

Also, I've been on the hunt for gigs - We've approached a good old number of venues and we're on the books for one place in Dunstable, so when something's organised, I'll be giving you dates and times to come and enjoy a great show!

Here's to sunny Autumn days, eh?
